I think this one would be - it is adorable, the critters, the people and the beautiful artwork. Seems really really fun to me to. I think this one is my very favourite of your reviews this year. Thank you so much for this awesome review.

Cryptid (Asmodee SKED0005), nominee for experts game of the year 2022 in Germany. You're trying to prove the existence of a new creature and each player has one hint about the creature's habitat. You have to guesstimate the other player's hints by asking questions and evaluating the answers in order to be the first to figure out where the creature actually lives. The only downside is that you need at least three players. How many players does this game need? Btw, how is a teen being able to play a game an indicator of accessibility? Having played heavyweights like Arkham Horror with a pre-teen (and she was making tactical decisions for the whole group after the third turn), kids can wrap their minds around complicated games incredibly fast if they like the setting well enough. But I wouldn't throw Arkham Horror at anybody, teen or adult, without a fair warning ;)

@@sumyrda2772 that sounds really interesting! This game can be played 1-4 players. Good point with the teen comment. This teen only plays lower weight games, like Parks, which is where I was coming from. We do know a 10 year old that has easily played Wondrous Creatures as well with no issues. Children are so subjective, as yes, there are some families playing Gloomhaven with their 7 year olds lol! Mine certainly wouldn’t have played a 3 hour Gloomhaven game at 7 (mostly for a lack of patience to play that long). I will be more careful with how I word things in the future. 😊

It’s not too bad - our table is nowhere near the width of say, a gaming table. It helps that the player boards are nice and thin. 😏

We are playtesting it for Bad Comet Games (like Life of the Amazonia), so it’s a great choice to play when you come over!

Nice overview ... maybe I missed it, but did you mention how some of your meeples were TWO HEX meeples? They seem to take up two hexes on the game board!

Thanks Len! 😊 That’s right, two hexes. I mentioned in the first part of the overview that you place a worker over two hexes (I believe it was right when the first image comes up of a place meeple). 😊 So you have three meeples and they all take two hexes of space. At the beginning, they can only be placed on the Plains (beige) hexes, but different captains have further placement abilities that can be unlocked that’s particular to them.

Thanks so much!! 😊 And yes, we never do paid reviews or previews. Currently there is some repetition in the art, but we’ve been told that will change in the final copy, as some of the art work is still in development. And there are some cards that have different creatures but have repeated effects.
