Hey I'm pretty sure you won't see this but my family and I used to go to the gold coast every September and buy cupcakes from her little market stall! Its crazy that I found you on youtube! Our favourites were definitely the strawberry, cookie monster and the mint slice! They were delicious!

Hi Elise. Amazing cake. What I do to make chocolate shards is very similar to yours but I like using clean bubble wrap to give it a bubble effect. Love all your videos😄😄😄

Best cake ever - I really liked the chocolate shards... and the color mixes you used. I wonder why do people remove the darker cake parts? They seem to provide structural stability and a bit of a crumb coat themselves.

It looks cleaner when you cut into the cake. Personally I only trim the tops to make sure they are level! You are right! Much easier to crumb coat

Two questions. What do you do with the excess cake pieces? My mom never let's me level the cakes because it's a waste of the scraps do I just eat them? And also how do you keep the buttercream frosting from taking off chunks,of the cake that always happens to me. We use Betty Crocker supermoist cake mix. Does that have any affect?

Hey! You can use the scraps for making cake pops and just eating it later yourself. Don't bin it! And with the buttercream taking off scraps; first apply a thin layer of buttercream to the cake layer, then add the rest of it to that. That way, it won't scrape off anymore!
