I think NV Entertainment deserves an appreciation too! We can't really fault the girls for that because (1) young groups like them really have no say as to what they can or cannot wear on their music videos (2) people who grew up without exposure to other cultures will most probably not know anything about those cultures. I grew up in southeast Asia and I have zero knowledge about the Chicana/Chicano culture. I didn't even notice that there is cultural appropriation in the MV and I needed someone to explain it to me. (3) They can't edit the music video, they will have to reshoot it completely which will be impossible given the financial constraints. But at least now they know that something is wrong and I'm sure that they won't wear those outfits again in the whole promotions.
