After burning the zelkova wood with a torch, I added texture with a carving gouge.

It's a very beautiful work in contrast to the patterns carved on the place where the fire passed and the texture of the tree itself!

말씀 감사합니다. 화산재에 천년이상 묻혀있던 나무에 "진다이"라는 이름을 붙인답니다. 그래서 노란빛의 느티가 자연 탄화 되어서 잿빛으로 된겁니다. 대부분 일본에서 나오는데 공사장에서 가끔 나오다 보니 일반 나무처럼 바로 구하기는 힘듭니다. 저도 기회가 있어 여러장 구입해 둔것이 다입니다..^^
