Palm tools are Flexcut, long straight ones are Pfiel

Hi I’m looking at starting relief carving and came across your video. For a beginner do you think fishtail or straight gouges?

Fishtail would have more uses, more likely. Just keep in mind the more you sharpen, the shorter the "tail" will get. But either will work really.
