very nice! we have concrete steps that arent level anymore. i wonder could i build a wooden structure over it that is level?

What about the sides (especially the visible left side) -- why not cover up the stringers and pre-existing concrete steps with the same material and color as the planks? It looks unfinished from the treads past the stringers and over the pre-existing concrete.
