That milling the 2nd log, 1/4 turn at a time made more sense. So many mill owners do a 180 flip which takes more time in the overall process. Nicely done.

Jason, I own the same mill but with a diesel. I think you should figure out a good laser sight line solution for the mill and then produce a video on it. That way I won’t have to find my own solution, I’ll just use yours 😀

I had a company contact me about trying their sighting laser but it had a really cheesy power system. I’ve thought about trying to rig up my Milwaukee laser but haven’t yet. I’ll definitely keep an eye out for a solution.

This is cool. I imagine this is just what it's like as you are sawing. The engine running, hum of the saw blade, and the thump of the lumber as it is being moved. Then the crescendo of silence in between maneuvers. Double thumbs up!

Snowing here right now in the lower Willamette…I can imagine what it’s like at your place! Boy, you were maxing out the mill that day (great shot of it at 19:17). This past week has been such bizarre weather, I can appreciate your bypassing the narration for this video. Much more rain on your loading hill, and you may have to gravel it…looked kind of dangerous when you were removing offcuts from the loading end.

It’s a mess up there. I need to grade it to drain better this summer. That’d help a lot. That last log was 34” on the big end. It went surprisingly well for being that big😉

Jason, I'd be milling smaller diameter logs! Sheesh! Really looks like Fun Times! Lol, After all that...'Gruntin', I would try to figger out a hoist system to get those timbers off the mill easier fer sure! My back is hurtin !!! Looks like a hot tub soak after that cold shower work out!

Thank you! I typically do some form of minor maintenance every time I mill but I noticed a pretty major issue before I got started. These belts don’t last nearly as long as they’re supposed to.

Even you had to find some extra grunt to throw off those jacket slabs! 😅 And they sure did rock that deck when you roll them over. Thank you! Those are some of the logs from my mom’s house. There was snow on the ground when I started the video that ended up being the belt change episode. At the end of this one, when I’m loading the logs, the big rain drops are actually wet snow. And now we have an inch on the ground this morning. 😂

Suggestion: when doing a non-talking video put the species you're cutting and dimensions of the lumber produced in text. Looked like doug fir, but sometimes it's not obvious. And scale/dimensions are hard to gage for us viewers. Thanks!
