How about a video about how and were to add oil after an oil change on a similar bike.i have a 505 rotax on a J&m frame with reservoir and am unsure were to add oil in the casing and how much.

Clamp the line, either with a special hose pinching tool or with needle nose vise grips. No oil behind the belt cover!

You're welcome! Thanks for viewing. I didn't mention capacity, as different chassis have different size tanks. This one takes a little over 2 liters. Remember, the engine holds oil as well, so filling the tank will not fill the engine until the pump takes up some oil from the tank. Then you have to top off the tank to the final fill level. It's Motul 300v. Redline is my other go-to oil.

I go to great lengths NOT to swap out clutch packs during the season, as it requires removing the cam belt and crank pulley (and remote starter assembly). My engine guy does it in the winter during the yearly rebuild. But let me see if I can make something worth watching using the service manual. Thanks for watching!

How much hp about do those rotax 600's make? I raced against abunch in ny last weekend and there fast

cain sample It’s difficult to say. Dyno’s don’t agree, people exaggerate, builds are different, etc. You’ll hear numbers ranging from about the high 50’s to the low 70’s. They’ll run with a modern 450 on many tracks, so that’s a good benchmark.

Ok thanks....in my last video i raced my cr500r in vintage medium class in ny and all 15 other bikes in my class wer all rotax's....im horrible at the turns n never get any practice n they smoked me in the turns but i stayed with them n even caught up to couple after the straights...i figued they wer 55-65hp thanks✌

Yea i wished i got more practice...only tried it a few times...got one practice there n they wet the track right before i went out...im gonna try a short track in maryland in a couple weeks and theres one in delaware but its expensive and not alot of ppl show up...

couple of questions; where can i buy that case saver? i have 3 ATK rotaxs- some have bypass built into filter such as yours on this video, some do not- filter cap is solid and appears bypass is build into cover- can you discuss? am i correct... is bypass in cover?

@@michaelmueller2955 I am unaware of anyone that retails the case guard. The chan guard/case guard I have was a one-off part made years ago. I will look into having some made (with some improvements) and let you know. The filter does look like it has a "bypass". The cover has a plug and accepts a fitting. It's been used for an auxiliary oil line in previous engine configurations. I use www.elliottpowersports.com for many Rotax engine parts and help.
