love the expansion chuck and using the live centre to open it enough to grip the bangle. You have a great understanding of your craft Hendrik. All the best Tony

Baie dankie vir die waardevolle raad wat jy gegee het. Ek het so paar idees gesien oor hoe om my proses om armbande te draai te verbeter. En Afrikaans bly darem 'n lekker taal om te kan praat.

Thanks for your comment Robbie. Yes I've two lathes. one is a HW Ward Turret lathe - that's for drilling only. The other one is a Mini Max Italian copier lathe as I make a lot of salt & pepper mills. It's got a mean chuck. Some time ago I was busy with an Irish wedding cup. I wanted to rest my left hand on the head stock. I inadvertendly put my hand on the fast turning chuck - the jaws were sticking out - it ripped my hand open - finger nails were gone too. Well that's life at the lathe. Kind regards

Hi Hendrik, what kind of wax and polish are you using ? Bonus points if you tell me Brights or Penny Pinchers sell it.
@HendrikvanTaak8 жыл бұрын
Hahaha no bonus points!. EEE Ultra Shine followed up with Hut Friction Polish and sometimes Traditional Wax. All obtainable from Mrwoodturner.co.za (I take it you're from SA)Take care

Great video Hendrik, could you not just notch out on either side that crack with the bandsaw about 15 mm, sand it up and call it a bracelet? Just a thought, it is a lovely turning.

EEE-Ultra Shine Paste Wax Shellawax Cream Friction Polish Shellawax Friction Polish Hendrik, jammer ek pla weer: watter van bg. sou jy aanbeveel vir gladmaak van servetringe en deurhandvatsels (dis waarmee ek besig is - 'n totale beginner met draaiwerk)? Ek soek vir die EEE Abrasive Wax maar dit lyk nie of dit so beskikbaar is nie. dankie solank.
@HendrikvanTaak8 жыл бұрын
Groete

Can you make a video on how you made that chuck to hold the bracelet Thank you your videos are great
@HendrikvanTaak7 жыл бұрын
It's so easy Dave, round a blank, drill a hole and cut 4 to 6 slits on the bandsaw. Once the centre point engages the hole the wood will expand and grip your bracelets, ring or napkin ring. Should the hole be larger in diameter than the centre point, another project awaits you. Again another blank - rounded, make a hole on one side to fit the centre point. Taper the opposite side. Turn safely
