Thank you. I own 2 of their saws and I love them. My experience with them has been great. I appreciate that we still have businesses like this in America that I can support.

I only a hybrid woodworker, but Bad Axe saws are the very best made for my money! I've had Lie Nielsen and Veritas saws, and while they both are good saws in their own right, the Bad Axe saws just cut better! Truth be told, they make me look better than I am!

That used to be the way it was done 100 plus years ago. But it is a time-consuming step and most companies started cheaping out on it post war.

A saw for every occasion. More saw types than I ever envisioned. And some of them have very interesting handles. They were all beautiful. The lady isn't bad either. Plus she appears to know a great deal about saws. Thank you for sharing. Looking forward to your tour of their shop. Have a great day and stay safe.🙂🙂Bad Axe. Yea, they should have an axe in their line.

Bad Axe is on my wish list. I have a couple of nice backsaws by Rob Cosman which, in my limited experience, are the best saws. I have Veritas and Lie-Nielsens too, but I never use them any more since I bought my Cosmans. Maybe you can do a review of those too?

Very interesting clip. However I'm still confused about the adjustable back thing. She went way over my head ???
@WoodByWrightHowTo Жыл бұрын
the back is just pinching the plate so if the plat catches it can move in the back rather then kinking. if the back is glued or riveted then the blade can kink if it catches in the cut. with the folded back if it ever does get messed up then you can tap it back into place in a second or two. rather then being stuck with a destroyed saw.

Hey Thanks for that great interview. I attended a workshop with their founder Mark Harrell this past fall in that very shop you conducted your interview. He is an especially talented teacher. He his wife Ivan started this successful custom saw company for hand tool woodworkers. Cass and the young new owners are keeping the tradition alive, well and growing. They use hammer saw sets and I had the fortune of using some of the vintage hammer saw sets made by Foley and Seymour Smith. They work well and are very consistent once you get them dialed in. I have been looking for one of these online and just have not seen any for sale. Hoping to find one at the Peach MWTCA meet in February. Have you seen one at any of the MWTCA meets or can you advise where these might be available for purchase. Sorry for the long comment. Thanks again, and please keep up the great teaching videos.

James - regarding the thumb rest on your new saw (congrats btw, she's a beaut), how do you like it? As soon as I saw it and thought about how it might feel, I thought I might like it, but given that I haven't seen it before I'm a little wary. Got any quick pros/cons? Think a fellow could cut on a carcass saw handle to get a similar groove?
