I have visited a woodcarving school here in Austria. You can also visit a carving school near you, ask a sculptor near you or search for tutorial videos on KZbin or videos on DVD. Books could also help. The most important: practice makes the master! :D

You should try on a billet of carbon composite but the I work with metals and carbon so I love the material more .
