In my area much of the dyed mulch is from brush, logs and reground arborist chips. Dyed black mulch uses carbon black/charcoal for colorant with latex to cause it to adhere. The red mulch uses iron oxide. And triple ground hardwood is undyed finely shredded aged mulch.
