You sign into the ranger station on Glen Island. You need to show deep dive certification. They give you a map that shows where to hook to buoy and then you follow the rope down to the NYS Underwater Heritage Preserve. Bottom time is limited to about 17 minutes.

@Jay D - Please don’t be such a jerk on this channel. Perhaps you snorkeled the colonial dock area, but I doubt you did so at the other sites, especially the site Pepe Productions referred to. That site is 107’ deep, the temps are around 41 F all year ‘round, and it’s beyond basic entry level recreational open water SCUBA training and certification. Hell, I’ve been with divers having advanced certifications that have had trouble in those circumstances. That says a lot about certain recreational diving certification entities. But still… It’s very doubtful you snorkeled to that site, certified for the use of SCUBA or not.
