I thought I would let you know I tried your method for leveling out the face of segmented rings. and it works great. I used the bowl holder for my chuck and after adjusting the holders, I placed a completed ring in it and flattened it. Then I did the rest of the rings i had made and sanded them with my sanding disc I made for my lathe. It will be nice to have flat rings for once when I glue them together.
