I too have some extreme burrs. I agree they are very, very aggressive. I believe they are really only good for roughing out a piece to remove quite a bit of stock and not for any of the fine details of a carving.

Hi I using drift wood some very soft ,some hard. Personally i don't like soft wood ,easy to mess up ..with the harder wood i can do more details .I started with harder woods. Find some dry wood and practice.You will find which works for you. Thank you.

Thanks What grit level are the Kutzall burrs? I have a couple of them that are referred to as extreme. There’re very course and aggressive. Unfortunately they are not the same shape as the ones you were using.
