A prescribed fire when used correctly is such as great tool for building better Wildlife habitat. But what are you burn and what is your end goal?
Having a plan in place before you drop a match is a must for safety and success. Where are you burning and what are your goals for that area. Bedding? Access? CRP? Early Successional Growth? Etc.
