I see you are an under-arm carrier like me, my carry is vertical, and I find it the most comfortable and safest way to carry, You always know where your knife is, and its also in a safe and dry place, and covert too!. I love your collection of Axe's, and you have done a marvelous job on restoring them! . Also, your Photography at the end of the Vid, is very good my Friend! .Regards from Ireland ..Tony.

Please explain this linseed oil, beeswax and turpentine recipe/technique you use. I have limited experiance treating hickory handles, but on my GB SFA I put about 12-14 coats of linseed oil over a month,(sanding between coats) and then on the last coat I waited until the oil was nearly dry, just a little tacky, and I worked a tiny bit of Obenhauf's LP Beeswax leather protectant into the tacky final coat of linseed oil. It worked well enough on that axe I did the same on my other GB.

very interesting video. i think i'll subscribe to your channel. i have started fires many different ways, but it appears you used birch or some kind of bark to make a ring for the tinder. i love that kind of ingenuity, it's all about continuous learning. what was the brand of firesteel you were using, it looked longer and thicker than the swedish one. thanks from south dakota

Sorry I also meant to ask if you make your own handles or if not where you buy them from. The only handles I have tried thus far have been big name brands from big box stores like Truper, Seymour, and Link (which the options are very limited in store) and House handle company. Thank you!

Hey I have been restoring axe heads and was just wondering did you thin that bit out a couple inches behind the bit or was it ground that way from the factory years ago? I can see that you obviously did sharpen and polish it but I was just wondering if you drastically thinned out that bit so that it had that grind that looked like a triangle ( I realize it looks that way because the top and bottom of the head are tapered ).
