WoodTrick Galaxy Marble Run 6 - The Big Wheel

The final construction video. The big wheel is being built. It is important to sand and wax where necessary. There is a lot of movement. Please stay tuned until the last moment: on my model the marbles had a tendency to leave the track in a few places. I had to make some modifications to prevent that. I will also then show where I improved the stability of the track afterwards with wood glue.

De laatste bouwvideo. Het grote rad wordt gebouwd. Het is belangrijk om daar waar nodig goed te schuren en met was in te smeren. Er beweegt namelijk erg veel. Blijft u vooral kijken tot het laatste moment: bij mijn baan hadden de knikkers de neiging om op enkele plaatsen de baan te verlaten. ik heb daarom enkele modificaties moeten aanbrengen om dat te voorkomen. Ook laat ik dan zien waar ik achteraf met houtlijm de stabiliteit van de baan verbeterd heb.

Das letzte Bauvideo. Das Riesenrad wird gerade gebaut. Es ist wichtig, dass Sie bei Bedarf schleifen und wachsen. Denn es gibt eine Menge Bewegung. Bleiben Sie bis zum letzten Moment wachsam: Auf meiner Anlage hatten die Murmeln an einigen Stellen die Tendenz, das Geleis zu verlassen. Ich musste einige Änderungen vornehmen, um das zu verhindern. Ich werde Ihnen auch zeigen, wo ich die Stabilität des Aufbaus mit Holzleim nachträglich verbessert habe.

Excellent camera work. Great tips and tricks. I find that using Chapstick as a lubricant also helps when putting tight pieces together. I learned that from U-Gears which makes great model kits.

👍I still use the chapsticks only for my lips 😊. But indeed, you could also use it as a lubricant for such things. However, I think it is more expensive than a piece of wax

Meiner läuft einwandfrei ohne rumfliegende Murmeln. Habe das oberste Kurvenboard nach den Wipprampen leicht angeschrägt, so dass die Kugel nicht liegen bleibt und das letzte Gummiband abgemacht. Dadurch ändert sich fast nichts in der Optik aber die Bahn läuft einwandfrei. Bei den Kurven mit den 289-29X-Teilen etc habe ich keine Probleme entdeckt. Nette Bahn auf jeden Fall.

Meine Erfahrungen haben gezeigt, dass die Gummibänder irgendwann von selbst abfallen. Aber so hat jeder seine eigenen Lösungen.

So. Is this or the ROKR marble night easier? What has better quality?

The quality of both marble tracks is equally good. But the Night City was easier to build. The Galaxy Marble Run is much bigger and more challenging.

Es ist in der Tat ein großer Junge. Und schau dir mein letztes Video an. Während der Aufnahme flog keine einzige Murmel aus der Bahn. Und ich habe bei der Videobearbeitung nicht geschummelt 😊.

At 10:27, I see you added curved pieces on the rail to keep the ball from leaving the track at the bottom of the 3 diving board type pieces. I see several people had removed the rubber band, so the bottom board stay in the down position. Even in the Wood Trick video you can see they did that too.

I had also considered leaving out the rubber bands at "diving boards". But after my adjustments, the marbles did not leave the track. And all the rubber bands are still attached to the diving boards. So everyone has their own solutions.
