Woodturing - Root Bowl - Rustic bowl from an unknown shrub root

In this video I turn a chunky, rustic bowl from a root that I dug up some 6-7 years ago. It sat waiting for many years until I bought lathe and then proved too much for my early skill set. Now you view take 2!

Great looking piece, Dave! The bark reminds me of Mulberry, even the grain is similar but Mulberry is yellow. Nice job! 😊 Phil

Can't beat a nice root ball!! I dug up a big rose bush at the back end of last year and strangely enough, the root ball went in my wood store haha. Another cool piece and video to match! Thanks for sharing, cheers mate!

Absolutely stunning Dave. I have 3 root balls of differing sizes so will start of with the smallest and work my way to the biggest which is a Rhododendron Root ball. Take care mate. Cheers, Huw

Hi Dave really nice piece, rootballs do look nice as the grain runs in all directions, they do look good set in resin as well, but you have done a really good job with that
