Woodturning a giant lidded box with separator

A giant box with a lid and separator.
In an old pieces of sipo and a little white ash I turn this very large elegant box and with a jatoba board I make a divider which will allow this large space to be compartmentalized in order to be able to store many things (tea, cookies). or any other food or not)
The cover is precisely machined so as to obtain a good seal.
The carnauba wax finish allows food contact.

Une géante boite à couvercle avec séparateur .
Dans un vieux morceaux de sipo et un peu de frêne blanc je tourne cette très grande boite élégante et avec une planchette de Jatoba je fabrique un séparateur qui permettra de compartimenter ce grand espace afin de pouvoir y ranger de nombreuses choses (du thé,des biscuits ou tout autres denrées alimentaire ou pas)
Le couvercle est précisemment usiné de façon à obtenir une bonne étanchéité.
La finition à la cire de Carnauba permet le contact alimentaire.

Love the cuurves. Coves and curves add so much to a piece over just flat interiors and exteriors on lids. I love what you did with the lid and the dividers. It adds so much to the whole piece. The multi-part finial was another great addition as well. Definitely not just another lidded box. Very well done, sir. If I had the income, I would bid on/buy this piece when it hit the site for sure. But alas, disabled and still fighting the SSA and having no income at all right now leaves me completely out of the running. I hope whomever gets it really appreciates the skill, patience, and work that went into this beautiful piece of art.
