Amazing looking mallet Matt, the lead shot will help with the blow. Thanks for sharing and stay safe. Keep on turning. Cheers, Bluey 👍

Nice one. I will start turning wood this year. I have tried back in school, but this was many year ago. The mallet would be a nice first project. Happy New Year and stay safe. Greetings from Germany

Beautiful mallet. Question. Can it be used on food and if so is still food safe with the lead? Happy New Year

Hmmm that is an interesting question! For tenderising? I probably wouldn't as I couldn't guarantee that I could seal it properly. You could use a heavier wood for the head though, or a bigger head.

Nice vid. And I love sapele and ash as a combo. Our version of maple and walnut 😎 It's your roughing gouge slightly swept back, or is it a trick of the camera?
