Re mica "gold" kintsugi turning out black - it happened with my epoxy-mica mix too. The drips, while still liquid, were beautifully gold, and stayed so when the epoxy cured, but when I turned and sanded off the hardened excess, it was black (with a scanty few gold sparkles) .

when turning wet/green wood should i let it dry before finishing with danish oil or can i apply it when still wet?

Good demo Colwyn and Matt. Question which type of jar do you find is best for storing cellouse sand and sealer to stop evaporation and also Danish oil. Cheers Geoff

In Canada we don’t have a product called finishing oil. What is this made of? Is it tung oil?

Hi Harvey, the following reply is from Colwin - I don't know the exact content of finishing oil, which may change slightly from manufacturers. However, I do know that they contain Tung oil. Here's an extract from Liberon's text on their bottles - "Finishing Oil is a blend of high quality oils for use on all interior wood and turned woodwork. Used to nourish and enhance the colour of the wood, it is suitable for use on kitchen tables and bathroom furniture, and can also be applied to cork, stone and terracotta." The other ingredient is a drying agent which is a component that Tung oil doesn't have. As a result, it would take a long time to dry. An alternative to finishing oil would be Danish oil which again is a blend of various oils. We hope this helps! 😊
