Lovely work Andy :) It amazing that the black lines in the spalting are created by 'battle boundaries' caused by the armies of fungus competing for territory.

9:27 Looks so interesting, makes me wonder how it would have turned out if it had a clear resin coat on it so you could still see all the gaps and splits, but the resin helped keep it solid.

Was sort of hoping there would be some epoxy work to seal it up... An asymmetrical chalice with a viewing window and see-through depth Gage... but that's just the personal bias of a pragmatist showing through. Visually, it is a beautiful piece. Working with "fissured" material is a risky proposition, yet you make it seem as this is a non-issue... Wonderfully done.

I think your videos are by far and away the best out there and I appreciate the fact that you're not intoxicated with the exuberance of your own verbosity like so many other woodturners who post on this channel. To help a learner like me, would you consider adding a bit of post-processing information as a "side bar"? For example, the speed you're turning, the tool you're using, the grade of sandpaper, the type of oil/resin/wax etc. Regardless, please keep on producing these excellent videos.
