I completely agree with this comment. Although a beautiful bowl was made in this video I didn't learn anything and am still wondering why you need a bigger lathe. Isn't the Vicmarc 300 not big enough? This video is simply ASMR which isn't bad but it isn't educational IMO.

Or … you could ask your specific question here and you’ll find a wealth of knowledge at your disposal. What is it you would like to know? I’m not sure if you’ve made many your e video but it’s a lot more work to edit voice overs in and people still ask many many questions in the comments. Also I speak English.. so that would only be helpful to English speaking viewers and annoying for the rest of the world.

Ash can be really spectacular. I was looking at the picture at about 7:54 and was woncering if there is ring shake in that. That seems to be fairly common in ash. Fine for a year or 5, then it splits.

I know your are quite the expert buddy so not questioning your experience but Iv never encountered ring shake in Ash. Lots in sweet chestnut and some Oaks but never in Ash. Maybe it’s different on your side of the pond 🤷🏼‍♀️

Can't remember. I bought a blank of ash when I was first starting at the local wood store, probably the eastern ash, and not the Oregon Ash, which at least is far different from the eastern stuff. After a couple of years, a slightly darker ring cracked along the ring. I now look for that. Not sure if your stuff is any different or not. I did get one tree once that the entire heart was that olive brown color. It sold out quickly!
