there is plenty of Live streams on KZbin through the week from UK Woodturners you can catch and ask questions, there is Wayne the woodturner, SK Krafts, Pete, Twisted Trees, Terry at Heckington Arts, Brian at Heartwood Turning..... just to name a few :)

Try holding the spindle gouge with the handle lower and the flute open to the top. Also as another subscriber said, drive the headstock drive spur into the wood before putting it in the lathe. Very sharp tools are important too. Lots of videos on youtube to get advice from. Grandad would be proud of you for trying. The adventure is just beginning.

first of all, drivethespurcenter in as far as you can and increase the tailstock pressure. turn the speed up, when the lathe starts walking all over the place, turn the speed down a bit

Excellent. Thank you. I did some more tonight so will upload a video tomorrow (hopefully). Definitely need some advice when it comes to using a skew chisel!! 😬
