What I love, is that there are no micro- exact rules or specs to follow. You follow how you feel, as you work it and the emotion always comes through. 💝

Andy Phillip he told me you had checked with him to be sure you weren’t stepping on toes, that makes you the man in my book. When people are inspired to do something by a previous creator it’s alway good to give a shoutout. In reality, no way could we ever know all the others that are doing it, but when you see a viral video, people know.

You are a heck of an artist sir. I love this piece! I aspire to make some projects like this one day! Question... how did you get it a perfect sphere? I see how you rotate it around in between the 2 wood centers, but to make that process work, you somehow got it a perfect sphere! Please share!
@AndyPhillipWoodturning7 жыл бұрын
Thankyou ... the way I do it is to draw a line on center then rotate a half turn then shape it again but make sure you don't take the line off then a quarter turn and repeat the process until its a sphere ... hope that helps .. im sure there is videos on youtube of this method .. cheers Jonathan

Awesome looking piece, but I'm somewhat disappointed you didn't show how you made the blank. What you added to the resin to make it blue, how you got the wood to not float to the top, if you used a pressure chamber or not, what type of resin, etc.
@happyhillsfarm85677 жыл бұрын
Luckily there are literally hundreds of videos on youtube about how to do that.

@AndyPhillipWoodturning7 жыл бұрын
Thanks .. I filmed making the blank but there wasn't a lot to it to be honest .. I used a round container cut the burl to fit in the bottom then did 3 pours of epoxy resin coloured with jacquard pearlex powder .. there's a video on my channel the hybrid paperweight which shows a similar casting ..thanks for watching
