When I do a CA finish I use 4-5 coats of thin, then micro mesh, then I put on 3-4 coats of Medium CA, micro mesh again then finish with a 2 pad buffing wheel and it makes even cocobolo look like you are going to fall into the wood. A very deep and glossy finish that is nearly bulletproof. I have not seen the cigar tube kit before so thank you very much, it will be added to my next orders

I really enjoyed these two videos. I have poured my own acrylic blank for the cigar holder I am making. Your tips will help me make mine successful with one exception that my blank is Round.

Tim, great video. I love your candidness and presentation. I am cigar smoker and I smoke a 54 ring. So the kit won’t work for me. I can buy brass tubing, but is there a mandrel that is adjustable or tapered to fit a larger hole size. Thanks, Al

Fantastic projects as per usual. Thanks for the content. Thanks for showing your down time when waiting for glue to dry, lol.

That is just gorgeous. that could be modified a little, wider in diameter and you'd get a pretty snappy looking pencil case or something. seeing as you've made a cigar holder... might we get to see a pipe?

How is Abranet? is it worth switching to? Finishing cedar is always a pain due to loading of the sand paper.. perhaps this would help?

A trick to keep from getting glue inside of the tubes is to use some plumbers putty or playdough. Flatten some out on your workbench and push the tube into it on both ends. It will put a small amount of the putty inside the tube, then after the glue dries you just push the putty out and the tube is clean with no glue on the inside.

Now, you know how to kill time. That wen a lot faster than the way I do it. This kit is nice put a huge improvement on these kits would be to add an adjustable clip for a pocket. I can see carrying that would be difficult.

Why not just cut ur blank shorter and expose the tube then glue instead of risking it blowing up by parting off after? Just a thought

Did he really mean 12,000 grit? Or 1200? I've never heard of anything over 400.
@reforzar6 жыл бұрын
heyandy x yes. 12,000 is a thing. Mostly used for turnings.

12,000 grit is real with Micro Mesh, it's their own grit system
@patricksworkshop60106 жыл бұрын
heyandy x its micromeshs grit system, in actuality a 12000 micromesh is roughly equal to 2500 grit sandpaper
