In this episode I am making bench dogs and holes in my woodworking workbench.
These bench dogs are not really thick, but 18 mm pine is strong enough.
I will continue the series on my workbench with some additions, Next episode is a drawer!
Thank you!

Nice Build! A few comments: 1) cut all the legs to the same length to get rid of that wobble on your bench when you are working on it (or shim the short leg). I suspect the wobble is due to an uneven floor. 2) double the thickness of you vise chop (stronger support for your dogs. Also angle the holes 2 degrees inwards for a better hold). 3) put a row of dog holes along one edge of the top of your bench; more useful than in the center. 4) drill your dog holes all the way through the top, otherwise they will fill up with sawdust & shavings, plus they can then be used with a holdfast, which is VERY useful.

Good idea on the dogs. It's a lot easier to do it this way if you want square dogs. It would be a pain to chisel out so many square mortises.

Hi Sebastian, like the idea mate and I'll be making some over the weekend. A lot simpler than some i've seen so more chance of them getting made rather than bought... the only thing i will do differently is cut a few holes in a scrap piece, wax the hole, put the dowel in and then glue the top piece on to make sure it stays square... great work though mate, and keep it going

about 200 mm on center, this dimension is slightly under the range of my vise. So my vise has a range up to 240 mm.

Enjoying your videos, very clear and well made! One thought, won’t your bench dog holes get full of sawdust etc?

I liked your simple way to make dogs. I will borrow your method. If you would like to do a collab, I can help you get closer to your view and sub goals. Just wanting to pass it along.

I just do not understand why everybody seems to think that shitty music makes a video better. I want to see the end result, I don’t want to listen to your crappy music.
