The pegboard template is an awesome idea. Never would have occurred to me in a million years.

The proportions are really good (for my taste). I'm still rooted in mid-century Danish simplicity ! I made a shelf pin jig for the router, to use a 30 mm guide bush and 5mm bit. I had a suitable piece of Perspex lying around to use for it.
@HoneyBadgerWoodWorks6 ай бұрын
I like that idea. If I start doing more adjustable shelves I might steal that idea.

@@HoneyBadgerWoodWorks Feel free - I pinched from somewhere myself. It does mean that the holes are done prior to assembly - no big deal I think.

I love all the thought and mastery that you put into each piece you build Caitlin. This cabinet is no exception, great work.

Thanks! It’s so simple I thought it might be a little boring for people that watch every week, so I’m happy you like it.

This cabinet is turning out great a nice size too, love how you did the base and legs, should last forever, after all we are all guilty of pulling furniture around instead of lifting so it’s always good to see a strong leg connection 👌👌👌👍👍👍🇦🇺
Very nice job looking very good thanks for the information!!!👍👌💯

Great job on the legs. They should stay in place for a long time.

Vacuum space should be an option on so many pieces of furniture. I imagine cats will appreciate the safe hiding space.

The pegboard is a great tip. I used a steel Simpson deck strap that comes with pre-drilled holes…. But I think your pegboard is better.

Agree on nice proportions of this cabinet. I am finally incorporating CAD into my workflow. You may have mentioned before but what software are you using?
@HoneyBadgerWoodWorks6 ай бұрын
Sketch Up. I don’t love being on the computer. However, for customers that have a hard time visualizing what something will look like, it’s been a life saver. Much easier to fix a design on a computer then have to cut off legs or change something glued in place.

Hello Honey Badger please put a Blade guard on your table Saw? Lovely Cabinet!❤

I just can't bring myself to tell an expert on how to do their job.
@HoneyBadgerWoodWorks5 ай бұрын
I understand the people that say I should use the riving knife, because I really need to replace mine, just been lazy about it. But, the blade guard is not going back on, nor do I know many full time woodworkers that use them. But to each their own.

Look forward to the final video on this client's cabinet! I just learned to use shellac-based primer on pine to hide knots, as the previous woodworker that built my home, made his own trim and casings...the knots show through 50 years of paint. Sigh. Scrape, caulk, prime and paint, repeat.

Hi HB, another simple but informative video. I was wondering, you have had the French cleat wall for a while. How do you like it? Timothy
@HoneyBadgerWoodWorks6 ай бұрын
So far I really like. It’s convenient to grab stuff off the wall. And I notice I put stuff away more often which is nice. I wish I had more time to finish it, but for now no regrets.

Something like this could also be easily modified to be a basic work bench in a small shop too. Should be robust and long lasting

For sure, I like this design as a versatile storage cabinet in general.

I have a question my niece wanted a coffee table with 8x8 inch table legs. Would I be using (4x4)x4 glued together to make one leg. You think 🤔 it could work. Great video and good tip on the peg board idea thanks 🙏
@HoneyBadgerWoodWorks6 ай бұрын
A 4x4 is really only 3.5x3.5 so that still wouldn’t get you to 8. The grain pattern on four squares could give you problems. What I like to do when I need big lumber is get a 2x10, cut it into pieces for my rough height, and laminate that together like a real thick butcher block. That works really well. Depending on the grade of lumber you get they might need to be planes first.

Thank you 🙏

As always, the project looks good. I noticed in the background the leveling compound. How did it work out? Did the floor level out and did it stop the water coming into your shop?
@HoneyBadgerWoodWorks6 ай бұрын
So far it’s working well. I only have gotten a small amount of water when the rain directly hits the door.
