I have done needlework for over 50 years, even teaching many forms of it, but this gentleman is a true master of the art. Never have I seen such beautiful work. Thank you for sharing

Fantastic to watch. However, is it too much to ask for a little narration in some parts so, that we can understand better some of the more obscure stitching techniques, for those of us that are not embroidery hobbyist's? Thanks for your consideration.

What is it that is rubbed on the back of the stitching ? Is it for the sealing of thread ends?

So much work. Just imagine how much something like Olgierds Kontusz must cost... (it's a character from the game The Witcher 3 and he wears a long robe made from silk brocade with a floral pattern).

In Japan every "master" at anything is really old and their time as a master is severely limited due to age. It takes way too long to get good at anything overthere. It looks like he made his needles and dies his strings instead of being store bought and just as good.
@silverlightx65 жыл бұрын
Store bought may be "just as good" but the knowledge to make these things is invaluable. All the old ways are being lost because people believe the store bought stuff is good enough, but then bemoan the lack of artistry and craftsmanship in modern goods.

So it's just grown men doing fancy cross stitching??
@carolinafranzoy77875 жыл бұрын
its really hard to achieve a perfectly executed stitch like him, it looks very neat ,and in 6:58 you can see that the back of the embroidery looks equally tidy . if you compare the embroidery of people who arent master like this guy, the embroidery looks messy with a few mistakes in the front and MANY mistakes in the back of the embroidery.

I’ve been embroidering for over 40 years and have various awards....my work would look childish next to his! No way could nor would I ever compete alongside this master. In the woodworking world it’s like working with old mahogany instead of popsicle sticks!
