Great tutorial on: - risk your fingers; - risk lungs disease; - how not use a lathe; - how to not use a skilsaw; - how to not use a spray painter; - how to waste lumber; - how ending with a orribile aesthetic result. Thank you.

I am no woodworker myself but holy duck that was an adventure to watch. I find the end result rather pleasing but in the making process i was tempted to jump out of my window. The sawing off the rim was especially pleasing with nothing fitting and it being held in place by awful clamps. I first thought, oh, he is making something that the epoxy he is covering that in doesn't spill. His use of the circular tabletop saw or what the heck it is called, when he freehand cut out the slot on top of the leg was bringing giving me great joy.

Funny you should say that. In America, “safety” means not going up onto a sloped roof to protect an ex-POTUS….ESPECIALLY, if it’s on a hot day. For that matter, safe wood-working practices (in America) means using proper form when pressing the start button on that CNC machine, so the DEI/Affirmative Action-hire doesn’t get carpel tunnel syndrome. So, perhaps the Asian dude, who still has all his fingers, in SPITE of decades of using unsafe practices, is on to something here. This wasn’t an OSHA video, dude. You probably sat through this entire video just to make that comment. The man in the video didn’t smile once, and I get the impression he’s a much happier, more grateful, person than you, by FAR.
@MrDottorzeta5 ай бұрын
@@phillamoore157 First of all I'm not American, I was not born in the USA and I never lived there. So I'm not talking about the American safety rules, that I don't know. Second, in my comment I never wrote about happiness, smiles or not smiles. The guy, happier than me in your opinion, he's a bad worker and a bad designer. And when you put something on KZbin, you have to pay attention...he's skilled, as you say. But if a teenager watch this video and without the experience and the skills of this guy want to start working in the same way, for sure has some issues. It is the problem.

Newby woodworker here, but If that’s a C+ then I’m barely passing lol. I’d think at least a B/B-. I admire your high standards but how couldve he gotten that A? What could be added or was missing, what could’ve he corrected, improved on, etc? I seek no conflict just curious.
@arklanuthoslin10 ай бұрын
@@7R4dicalized I'm no professional wood worker, but what I see: lots of gaps and loose fitting joints, cuts that went too deep, the 45 degree miter joint for the trim around the edge didn't meet cleanly, no where near enough sanding. It's a decent enough table and the top design is cool and a good use of small bits of wood, for sure. just, rushed, basically.

WOW !! I wanna be able to make stuff like that !! I don't have enough different kinds of saw's !! (Or, a lathe)
@patriciajackson67112 жыл бұрын
I have bought, in the past 2 yrs; Table model Scroll Saw (Porter), Table model Mitre Saw (Craftsman), Circular Saw (Craftsman), Jigsaw (Craftsman), 3 different power sanders, Belt, Mouse, and a kind of medium size circular sander (all Craftsman). I have 12 different colors of Stains, Pre-stain, and lacquer. Trying to start my own little business. "Flutterby's and Hummer's Home Decor", a Faith-based shop for small items that I was working on B4 the deep depression set in. I've salvaged a bunch of pallets for working on projects that are rustic looking, and new wood for the new looking products. I was working on my screened-in porch at night, and, then we got new neighbors on both sides of us, within 20' of where I had been working, and, felt like I had to stop because they had 3 kids in diapers, and would have a big problem with my noise. I was a Night shift Homecare Pediatric Nurse, until I lost my job at the beginning of the "Plannedemic". I no longer wanted to spend all my time in somebody else's house, if they were going to pass me some kind of thing that could so easily kill me (I'm 66yo). I've been collecting supplies to start working on a dream, for over 10yrs. That dream is Flutterby's and Hummer's. But, what I was collecting for those 10 years was Artzy Craftzy supplies because my products will rely on fabrics, fabric paints and markers, machine embroidery, beads, etc. The main item's being Decorative Screens, like Drs offices used to have to get undressed behind, except for mine will be made in all kinds of colors and styles, Crosses, Fishes, and, wall hangings with Scriptures and Positive Sayings on them in Paints and Vinyls on rustic wood and on canvas. I want to get this really rolling B4 I die, so that my adult High Functioning Autistic daughter can continue it, giving her a way to make a living that's within her realm of reality. No mean bosses to break her down. IDK, maybe I'm just crazy....

Way cool. Im just not sure about the top. Given how uneven it is, i would not want to put a glass or something like that on it cause things would be tippy. Maybe use an acrylic or something on the top to get a flat surface?? Oh. I should have watched all of it before commenting! Lol. No its way, way cool! 😅
