Woodworm causes floor to collapse

Woodworm need moisture to survive, and unfortunately something like restricting sub floor ventilation via blocking the sub floor air bricks can cause serious issues. In this instance the floorboards in this Wiltshire property are infested with active woodworm, and have caused a serious health and safety issue. If you have cavity wall insulation installed, or perhaps thinking of getting it installed you need to make sure the sub floor ventilation is sleeved to ensure decay and woodworm don't cause an issue. If you have damp at the base of the wall it would also be worth inspecting floor joists adjacent to the area, incase dry rot or wet rot occurs. How long did it take to get like that since the insulation was "installed"?

Can't be exact as there isn't a date for the first install of cavity wall insulation unfortunately. The second lot of insulation was pumped in about 4 years ago.

There is woodworm where I am living and there is hollow spots in the floor but can't see them because it's covered in laminate. Unsure what to do because it's a rental. It's sinking.

Be best to speak to your landlord and get a survey really 👍
