I'm biased. I grew up with a mom who I loved deeply, but who started going crazy when I was 10. During the divorce she wildly accused my father of molesting me. The details brought to me by law enforcement during an interview were so compelling and serious -- including heartbreaking stuff I supposedly told her -- that I felt I would condemn my mom to deny them. Not being a huge fan of my dad (for other reasons), I almost went along with her lies, for her sake. Almost. After the interview was over I broke down, feeling unforgivable for telling the truth(!): that my mom makes stuff up when she gets really mad. Criminal behavior should definitely be prosecuted and tried, and it sucks that a lot of weirdos escape justice even when due process is applied; but PUBLICLY treating every unprovable allegation as fact, and PUBLICLY condemning people based on them, is destructive. If my mom's allegations were all over the news, there is no way I would have been strong enough to tell the truth. I may have even believed her lies to get my conscience off the hook. Weird. I never told a soul about this. Sorry if my story offends any real victims of abuse. I certainly don't want to do that. Just adding my experience for consideration. My mother has biased me toward non-judgement on ugly personal matters that we really know nothing about.

I’ve watched Rainy Day in New York several times. It’s especially endearing to me for the theme of the rain and the loner brooder poet set in New York City. All characters were amazing. The cocktail piano playing all those romantic songs of the past. I get chills thinking about it. Lovely film. Chalumet was wonderful when he sang. Selena Gomez was a perfect match to Chalumet’s character. A look inside some of the beautiful homes and their history , how Woody weaved the theme into every scene. I consider it one of his best and feel it somewhat defines him personally. Bravo Woody ❤

@kimmie6209 Read the custody trial report sub 'Findings of Fact', unchallenged by Mia Farrow. Soon-Yi was 20 when Mia stimulated her to take up activities with Woody Allen, such as going to basketball games together. One year later, when Soon-Yi was 21, did Woody and she fall in love. Up until then, Woody had had NO personal contact with Soon-Yi. He was totally uninterested in the children Mia shared with her ex-husband, André Previn, the only father figure Soon-Yi ever had. Now I wonder why you presented your TOTAL FANTASY about 'messing with her while she was still a teenager' as if it were fact. It seems you are not an objective judge, but you WANT Woody to be guilty of some heinous crime. If necessary, you are prepared to BEND the 'facts'.

After the film "Melinda and Melinda", the banks who finance his films came to him and talked about the financing on his next film. The bankers told him they did not only want to be just financiers, but also would like to take part, give advice and suggestions on his next film. They would make approvals for script, actors, as well as working on production for the duration of the production, before they would consider finance. Woody realized at this point, diplomacy was needed and tried to explain to them: (1) He swore he would never do something like that ever again, after "What's new pussycat." (2) He would never think of advising them on how and what to invest in (unless it was one of his films) because he simply could not get involved in that, because he virtually has no idea about it. (3) What they were suggesting would be like, someone would claim to be an expert on French because he saw 10 french films with English subtitles. (4) When financiers insist on doing something like this, the film itself, in the vast majority of cases turns out to be a box office flop. After much more discussion, he called their bluff. He had a showdown. He finally concluded with, "So let's get a move on. Let's get going. Give me the money, in a brown paper bag and I'll turn over a film to you, for you to market however you see fit." And they told him, in a not so polite way "No." Then a little while later, out of the blue, he got a call from England telling him his next film would be fully financed and he himself would have full control over the production of the film with absolutely no interference from them or anyone else for that matter, with only one condition -it would be filmed in London. He readily agreed. He said everything went great with production. He never had a bad day. Nothing went went wrong. "Match Point" was the film.

Regardless of whether Woody Allen’s film is released or not in the U.S. doesn’t matter, I really like his consistent work ethic at his age. I’m going to watch his new film and seek out his other films. It’s sad that the U.S. environment right now is stuck in a anti-male stasis, wanting to punish American men at the expense of selfish American women. I like Allen’s response about working in Hollywood. “...I could care less, I never worked in Hollywood, I work in New York.” He’s also appears to not have to be concerned about selling exclusively in the U.S. market. That’s real luxury! Awesome 👏🏾

@Theresa L. Dowling I know another crime that is very harmful to society and the mental health of victims. The crime is called 'falsely alleging your ex-partner of sexual abuse'. This crime is most often committed in situations of ugly divorces and bitter custody battles. In other words: exactly the situation Mia Farrow and Woody Allen were in. Thankfully, we also pay for a legal system in which people are to be protected from false allegations.
@mickthenick14 жыл бұрын
@Theresa L. Dowling Hello Theresa, I really would that you present relevant arguments, rather than point at your own assumed eminence, and instruct me to go see & do anything for some unknown reason. If you don't have any relevant arguments, than it's O.K. too. We just conclude our little disagreement. Which I've won.
@mickthenick14 жыл бұрын
@Theresa L. Dowling No Theresa, that is no way to discuss. Go send people off to do your homework for you. You are evidently out of arguments. Then talk about my 'stinky butt', an 'idiot' and 'fool'. @mickthenick14 жыл бұрын
@Theresa L. Dowling Yes, just like victims of FALSE abuse allegations need to be protected by society, because the crime of FALSELY alleging someone of child sexual abuse is heinous, totally damaging, and do not remain to be 'private' either. These crimes deserve to be prosecuted by tax dollars either. So this argument has no weight in the debate over Allen's or Mia's guilt or innocence.

It's really pathetic how Mia Farrow wanting revenge has hurt his career and public image so much. I don't believe for a second that it's true. It's not right that women can ruin someone like this with no consequences and no one even questions them.

I don't know what the truth is relating to the alleged allegations against Woody. What I do know however, is that Soon-Yi and Woody's adopted son, Moses Farrow tell a vastly different story than Dylan and Ronan do. They didn't get an Op-Ed or HBO series telling their side though.
