I was lucky enough to get to take lessons with Woody for a few months years ago, and he was not just one of the most talented musicians I've ever met, but extremely kind, humble, and encouraging! Hard to imagine where I'd be now without his guidance all those years ago. RIP Woody

These Artistry videos are the best. They should win some sort of award. Woody Mann has been a favorite of mine for years. I wish he would release more CDs like his Stories CD. I like his singing a lot. His guitar playing is out of this world.

i used to think he was just another great acoustic blues ragtime player. Then i discovered he plays some of the guitar duets on Fahey's Old Fashioned Love...Now that album imho is one of the finest musical achievements in the history of the human race, so now Woody Mann is my new guitar god.

...very, very nice. I especially like the way Woody uses the entire neck of the guitar to form the chord progressions - really opens the tune up and makes it swing.
