WOODY McCLAIN IN THE TRAP | 85 SOUTH SHOW PODCAST | 10.11.24

On this episode, Woody McLain checks in with Karlous Miller, DC Young Fly and Chico Bean! They start talking about the characters of the Bible…and who they would like to emulate. Joseph, Noah , etc. The squad talks about living their dreams and taking advantage of opportunities that they’ve had in the past. Woody breaks down how he got into entertainment and shares his history as a background dancer for people like Chris Brown and others. Karlous asks Woody and DC about their Vine days and remembers DC singing to the roaches! Woody is world-renown for this Bobby Brown depiction in the New Edition biopic. They discuss the audition process and the high and lows of it all. DC Young Fly suggests that Woody portray Spider Man and explores Jim Carrey’s super true portrayal of Andy Kaufman.
The crew praise Don Cheadle and Denzel Washington for their great acting chops! (and Cuba Gooding Jr in radio) Karlous breaks down why Sho nNuff was hating in The Last Dragon. Looking back at more acting performances, they remember Flex Washington as Michael Jackson and pay homage to 50 Cent for his production energy and opportunities 50 Cent has created. Woody shouts out Nick Cannon and explains how Drum Line inspired him to be in the band and ultimately an entertainer. Chico Bean is in the house and tells the story of the first time he met New Edition. DC Young Fly looks back at his love for the Back Street boys and talks about the classic show TRL. The squad jokes about great theme song intros so Karlous sings the Thundercats and the Jetsons songs. Woody has his own “gas” called Kane Green and he blesses everyone with some product. Speaking of making music, Chico explores the great creativity of musical writers like Babyface and shares his mommas favorite song!
