Woody is right, Mandalorians are not necessarily *one* race of people, but a religion or culture of sorts. Mandalorians were originally a weird humanoid race that allowed humans into their ranks as they shared the mindset, and eventually the original Mandos died out and the majority of them were now human Mandos. As long as you live their way and they accept you, you are a Mando. Hence why the main one in the Disney series was not born into Mandos, but was adopted and is referred to as a foundling.

Not totally sure about the location nowadays, i did a lot of high end carpentry and remodelling based out western NC,and just rewatched woodys house tour from years ago .i kinda recognize the place and if it is the same spot, some of the people working on it were so pumped and glad to work on such a beautifully done house.
