I worked at BBC Woofferton in the mid 1970's and this brought back some really good memories. Thanks for the upload!

Hi ilferret, these senders are designed to provide interference free reception hence the high powers used. Normally it's not wise to mix water and electricity and that's why so many are surprised about the cooling methods, especially thosed used over 50 years ago!

Nice vid. Quite a different kettle of fish compared to the small 1500W PEP transmitters I used to work with on tankers.
