Hey, Emma, to fix the gaps in the yarn overs all you do is do your regular yarn overs and then on the next row unit the yarn overs through the back loop so they’re twisted and that closes up the whole❤

Moss stitch in crochet makes a nice warm fabric and you can change colors each row or every couple of rows to make it colorful.

Your beret is darling. You look great in it. I like the way you tucked the front under. Every way was good, and it looks even nicer than regular knit hats.

Hi Emma! Congrats on your shawl pattern release! It’s beautiful! If you are worried about your house not being warm enough for sourdough proofing, put the bowl on a heating pad on a low setting. Sounds crazy but I do it and it works. Seems to speed up the process too!

Hi Emma! If you're trying to proof your dough, set your oven to preheat to 400 degrees (f) for 1 minute then shut it off. Leave your dough in the proofing basket covered in the oven. It will be warm enough without a draft, but it won't actually start to cook your dough. Let me know how it goes!

Thank you for sharing all your makes, beautiful yarns and delicious new shawl design. Can you proof your bread on top of your wood stove? I used to live in New England and I helped get the starter going by using warm water to mix up the dough and that helped. Now back in California, our oven has a bread proof setting so we use that when it's cold.

Hi Emma, your shawl is beautiful! When I was much younger, my go to hat was a beret. Somewhere along the way, I lost it and my head is on the larger size, I haven't found one that fits. I am currently working on the studio beret by churchmouse. I really like the look of your beret and may want to try that pattern next😊

Hey Emma, I've seen David Hockney wearing a beret with the front pulled forward so that it looks like a Peaky Blinders kind of cap. I thought he'd perfectly married the French and the Yorkshire sides of his life!

Hi Emma. Have you tried the 2x2 bind off called invisible ribbed bind off by Knit Freedom. I find it has great results and you don’t need to swop any stitches about. Give it a watch and see if it’s what you are looking for. Love the little pinafore dress x

Thanks Emma for a lovely podcast. I always enjoy them. Really looking forward to cast on your shawl design. I think I’ll knit it in just one color throughout as I am trying not to buy yarn anytime soon and I have two skeins of bfl masham 4 ply that I hope will work perfectly?!

Hello Emma, many thanks for another enjoyable vlog. You fairly suit your beret, very French, especially with your red and white top in your last vlog, to complete the picture all you needed was your bike and stringed onions hanging from the handlebars. I knitted a beret many moons ago , which fell heir to a friend, as had I ventured out wearing it, I would have frightened the horses’. Well done for your shawl design, it is really lovely. Clever girl. Keep up the good work, as I really appreciate your time.😮😮 😮

I can't believe you have things in bloom. Our temperature in Calgary (Alberta) 🇨🇦 has reached plus 10 in the daytime but always below zero at night and still a foot of snow on the ground!!! Give Rufus a scratch for me! Cheers

Hey, and the difference between the Italian bind off and the tubular is the tubular has to set up rows and the Italian just has you sewing in the yarn without the two set up rows❤

We keep our house very cool, so I proof mine in my oven with the light on and a pan of water that was boiled on the bottom rack. It does take longer but worth it in the end. I've even gone as far as using a heating pad to rest my bowl on. Another thing I've done when making rolls is putting the tray on my dryer in the laundry cupboard when I have bedding to do (the dryer will be on consistently until it's all done). I oil the tops then cling film then a tea towel then set the tray on top of a towel and let it rise in it's own little sauna! lol I'd love to grab one of your sock sets and a shawl set, the green one is so beautiful!

Hi, Emma. I love the beret and your blue vest. I also love the Fernie vest. The baby blanket is looking great… the colours are gorgeous. The granny square is similar to what you have done on the baby blanket only done in squares… it’s very easy. Your sweater looks great… you could definitely wear your beret with it. See you next time❤️

Lovely podcast! I'm very tempted by your shawl pattern but I might need to hunt for stash yarn. I'm using some of your natural sock (a yellowy colourway with pink pops of colour can't remember the name) in a colour work hat at the moment but I think there's going to be lots of leftovers so maybe I can use that plus something else.
