I think maybe the reason they say to remove them before washing clothes is because they only stick on, so they would fall off of the clothing in the wash. But they are the same material as regular patches, so if you sew them on to clothing, they probably would last forever on the clothing, and you could probably wash the clothes with them sewn onto it.

I'm wondering if you could stick them onto your clothing but then so around the outside. They'd be fun on an old pair of butterfly Levi's. I'm an old gal and we just loved sewing patches on our jeans. The glue would be handy to hold them in place while you sew them down. Just kind of thinking out loud.
