Streamline does make your lines less shakey, but it’s harder to create curves. I reccomend you go to stabilization, but instead of streamline, turn up the amount of motion filtering. It will fix the shakiness in lines too, but more dynamic.
@WoolyPronto2 жыл бұрын
Totally! The update with motion filtering stabilization and smoothing is a huge improvement from streamline, so happy they finally incorporated that!

I have a question: I got an Apple Pencil (Gen 2) yesterday and when I use pressure on my iPad with my Apple Pencil on Procreate it doesn’t get thicker. So, should I be concerned?
@WoolyPronto2 жыл бұрын
Definitely doesn't sound normal! First I'd say to check in a different app to see if pressure sensitivity works there. Then you will have a better idea if it's an issue with the pencil or an issue with Procreate. Then, it’s always a good troubleshooting step to unpair/forget the Apple Pencil, restart the iPad, repair, etc. Lastly, you could try uninstalling and reinstalling Procreate (don’t forget to back everything up). Also definitely recommend reaching out to Procreate via their website, their help team is great - as is Apple’s, if it seems to be a Pencil issue. Hope you find a solution, and merry Christmas!

Ok, so I’m new to procreate and I’m so not used to digital art yet. But I have found methods I love using. I had the pocket app and I love how it responded when I moved the pencil, procreate doesn’t act like that. When I go to do my crosshatching type of blending it doesn’t quite move the way I do, the marks will come out short while I’m taking the pencil out further than what it’s leaving. I may just be missing something and might be a fool lol. But is there a way to fix this? Idk if what I even said made any sense lol,

Excellent video thank you! Just one question…I’m having a problem where as my brushes act like silly string…when I’m writing it’s quite stringy. It’s wrecking my brain as to why it’s doing this. Hope you can help me. Thank you
@WoolyPronto Жыл бұрын
Hi Clair! That sounds strange (and frustrating!) and I’m not fully sure I understand what the issue is! Does it seem like you don’t have control over the brush stroke? Or that you have almost too much control? If the former, I wonder if it’s a hardware issue - check the Apple Pencil tip for wear and tear, maybe reach out to Apple support for assistance if you seem to have similar issues in other applications. If the latter, I could see procreate’s motion filtering being a factor - if it’s happening on all brushes, check the universal settings by going to the wrench > prefs > pressure and smoothing. Lastly, if it feels like brush strokes snap into poly lines or quickshapes and that’s what is causing it, you can change the Quickshape delay by going to wrench > prefs > gesture controls > quickshape and then increasing the delay under “draw and hold”. Hope this helps you get to some kind of solution!

@@WoolyPronto Hey 😊. Thank you ever so much for replying. It only happens with certain brushes, for instance calligraphy brushes, pencils, markers to name a few. It kinda like drags and stringy when writing etc. It’s hard to explain 🙈. So for example if I’m writing in cursive it’s stringy and curly..like it drags . I’ve tried 3 pencils on this app an theyre the same so it’s not my personal pen. It’s been wrecking my head going through all setting for the brushes. @@fatwapp oooo okay the drag descriptor makes me think the setting you’d want to adjust would be Streamline! In the brush settings, under Stabilization, if the brush has any streamline settings or stabilization settings turned on, try moving the slider to zero to see if it helps? This setting is independent of the universal setting in my previous comment. Streamline is used on a lot of the calligraphy brushes specifically… fingers crossed this fixes it for you!

Hi! So I got procreate a while ago, and it was great, but then I saw a youtuber writing great calligraphy names, and i wanted to try it! they responded, so I have the brush they are using. I have an iPad pencil, but it isn’t apples brand. I wanted to know how they got the thin lines when they put less pressure, and the thicker lines with more pressure. I found other videos, but I didn’t understand them. Then I found your video, and I want through it. Then I tried it. It didn’t work. It was still the same thickness no matter how lightly i put it on. Is this because I don’t have an apple brand pencil?

You can do this by uninstalling and reinstalling the app. Be sure to save your artwork to a backup drive - it will not restore them when you reinstall it! Otherwise, you can individually go into each brush and hit “reset” but that would probably take ... forever.
