The team is thrilled with your opinion and that you carved out the time mid production . We spent a lot of time refining our ideas and picking up on what matters from our community. If you have any rattle on your model, you can push in the excess lube resting on the stabilizer. We have add a generous amount at production, but nothing beats a diy. If you "feel" like your custom might have small delays look for a 1khz firmware for it, most customs released this and last year should have one, as more and more people started asking for it, and QMK themselves moved to make a 1khz standard when compiling firmware. Should solve any potential delays as it bumps the polling rate from 125 or 250 to 1k.
@legohp72 жыл бұрын
yup, so long as the repositories are there a quick edit to the files and compiling a firmware using QMK MSYS (or equivalent) will allow most customs to hit 1khz.
@BTaesthetics2 жыл бұрын
I'll look more into it. Sounds like a great idea for a video :) Do you have any links you could share? Thanks!
@Venastra72 жыл бұрын
@@BTaesthetics No need to edit anything since QMK 0.16.0 (26.02.2022) default polling rate is 1000 Hz and devs removed all lines with USB_POLLING_INTERVAL_MS from their GitHub repository. Since then any precompiled firmware or QMK Configurator should work but for VIA or VIAL support You have to compile Your own firmware with QMK MSYS, QMK WSL. Procedure is simple but preparing build environment and working with GIT isn't. If You don't care just run QMK COMPILE -KB -KM and flash with QMK Toolbox. You can also adjust debounce time, algorithm, keys per scan and probably other settings I don't know. Disabling RGB should also reduce input latency but only 1 person on QMK Discord tested that. Same with 8000 Hz which also needs more testing. QMK Documentation (has a newbie guide) or QMK Discord is the best place to learn just because QMK changes often and most tutorials are outdated in some degree.

Gonna try this because I felt exactly like my custom felt slow. I still would like to get wooting keyboard but definitely will try this
@ilikehiking2 жыл бұрын
The fact that the Wooting can detect the very moment you're releasing the switch and proceeds to send an upstroke is simply too much of an advantage. Not to mention how you can customize actuation points, and even program multiple inputs into a single stroke. I cannot justify using my custom anymore which REALLY pisses me off, because I do not like linear switches, I do not like the 60% formfactor, and I do not like plastic keyboards. Function over form though, so as Brandon said, time to get in the trenches and get dirty while hoping that the custom keyboard crowd catches onto the analog switches trend.

Even though "sound" is not the point of this keyboard, I gotta say I was positively impressed with my copy. It might be the best sounding production keyboard I ever tried (and the stabs in my copy came very well tuned --again, for a production keyboard). Razers and Steelseries don't stand a chance against the 60HE in performance, in sound and SPECIALLY in the quality of the software. Really incredible what this Dutch team pulled off here!

In my opinion this rapid fire technology seems very gimmicky. Not saying its bad to have and it can have benefits but for games like Val/CS/Warzone/FPS etc I do not see this being that significant if you already have a fast activating switch. The video he did of strafing. You could do that on an old membrane keyboard. What you really want is how quickly the keys activate. Wooting can be set at 0.1 to 4.0mm. In comparison most fast keyboards have 2.0mm red switches or sliver speeds which are around 1.0mm. You are barely touching the keys. Rapid fire can be more of a benefit if you are constantly pushing all the way down on the keys. It could remove that small delay of the keys coming back up but I hardly see this mattering in FPS games. In games where you button mash this could be substantial. Test it with your finger... Press your finger on your desk and lift up and down off the desk now do the same but only remove pressure while keeping your finger on the desk. You can now press significantly faster and its less difficult. I imagine some fighting games or music type games that require constantly pressing the same keys would greatly benefit from rapid fire....However in FPS games you do not spam strafe for long periods of time. Your hands should not get tired and you should not be constantly bottoming out your keys. Having fast activating switches and remembering to lightly press your keys will have similar results as the Wooting. If rapid fire is your only real justification to buy this keyboard (you don't care about analog in games, changing sensitivity (there is some other keyboards that do this already SteelSeries Apex pro/Razor, etc) and you only play Fps games I would pass on this keyboard. You can find much better usable features/quality with that money.
