Similar way but I use a hozelock garden pressure sprayer with my regin cleaning blades.

Strip the unit out. Be amazed at the piss poor fitting of the gaskets. Get a hacksaw blade in straight from the front. Then angled down (won't go up) Then from the undersides at both forwards and backwards. The regular clean doesn't shift anything in the slots from top to bottom so eventually one layer will not pass any gases and it will be ready for the bin. Dare say it is not the best for the HX but it would be scrap anyway at that. It's only aluminium and doesn't appear to be treated. A chemical clean would be best but I've not found any great suggestions that are safe with aluminium. Incidentally they have changed the order of burner/gasket/lid from the manual of the early CDi. The burner goes into the gasket now and doesn't slide about (the cause of the mashed gasket I removed)

Hi, I have a Worcester CDi 30 that has problems lighting, the insurance engineers have changed gas valve, ignition, cables and said if it still goes off (it's intermittent) the only thing it can be is a blockage in the heat exchanger from limescale, but they said it can't be cleaned it will need the whole boiler replacing. Where do you get the cleaning tool? Is rather try cleaning it than pay £2.5k for a new boiler if it just needs a bit of a clean up.

Don't trust the idiots insurance companies sub-contract to repair boilers. Mine was overheating and they changed various parts without success, still leaving me with no hot water for three weeks. Out of frustration, I called Worcester directly, who sent their own engineer. He correctly diagnosed the fault within a couple of minutes, replaced the correct part and I was up and running within an hour.

Out of interest are the cracks in the heat exchanger a cause for concern?

De pupe i dont dont its the correct srvice kit My comment regarding the hoover was simply to stop all that condensate waste flying inside the boiler and all over someones house

Darren Hooper Good point made .. love to know what De pupe is ?... did you notice in the video the old bricks ?.... I’m outside in a garden shed 😂🤣 no need to even throw my sheet down. This video was an experiment with the camera .. I never expected Anyone to watch it. Try and find the positive in people and situations rather than finding something to pick holes in 👍 Appreciate the comment tho.
