Yes, I’ve timed mine, with it off the kitchen tap takes 8seconds to get hot water, put the button on it takes 18seconds, so always mine is left off in the long run it’s better saves you money, less water less gas because you have received the hot water already

This function isn’t about storing domestic hot water like say a small hw tank. It keeps the water in the boiler hot that is used to heat the passing cold water through the boiler when a tap is opened . this function’s benefits is massively outweighed by its negatives. It reduces boiler life and uses more gas in most circumstances

Any ideas why? I can understand the preheat for hot water but why rads and anyway it shouldn't be on preheat.

And not wanting to offend you, but are you sure it hasn't dropped below 12 degrees in your home? If you have a digital thermostat you should have a 'actual' temperature as well as a 'target' temperature

Eclectic Badger that was what I thought I turned that green button to off. Now I watched another you tube on how to repressurise the boiler After bleeding the rediators; demonstrator said the White key must be on Off position whilst bleeding so it means after turning back the water button to Off position the White Key should be on On position, am I right?
@EclecticBadger4 жыл бұрын
@@vsgP7117 for the 'internal filling loop' (the one that needs a key): Before using the key you would bleed the rads of air first. The existing pressure in the system will force the air out of the rad, resulting in an obvious pressure drop on the gauge. Next, close off all radiator bleed valves before re-pressurising as normal: Ie. insert the key, turn from closed (off) to open (on), then slowly open (turn on) the mains water supply valve letting water in until the gauge reads 1.0 bar. Once at the correct pressure, close (turn off) the supply valve, then turn the key from open (on) to close (off) and remove. If you over-pressurise, making sure the water supply valve is closed (turned off), and the inlet key is also closed (turned off/locked), bleed water from the nearest radiator to the boiler until the gauge falls to within the 1.0 to 1.5 bar range.

did you get it working. I just been through this with mine and wasted a day before I realised what was going on. Think it only tries to resync the thermostat to the bolier in the first 20 seconds after the new working batteries are put in. If after that it hasn't found the signal then it gives up trying. I ended up taking thermostat off wall and up to the bathroom where boiler is, then i put the new batteries in , then i could watch the lights on the boiler. It finally found the signal and synced, then i could take it back to the hall and put on the wall again.
