First one औषध (Aushadha)
Word derivation of औषध (Aushadha):
• It is Derived from the root 'उष' (uṣ), which means "to burn" or "to heat".
• The the suffix 'ध' (dha) is added to it., forming a noun that indicates an agent or substance related to the root's action.
So in general औषध refers to medicinal substances, particularly herbs used in healing and treatment.
Definition of - औषध (Aushadha)
ओसो नाम रसः, सो अस्यां धीयते यत् तद् ओषधिः ।
ओसाद आरोग्यमाधत्ते तस्मात् ओषधिरौषध:॥ (Kasyapasamhita; Khila sthana3/27)
Osa(essence) means rasa,
सो अस्यां धीयते यत् तद् ओषधिः means the osa or rasa which is placed in this dravya that is ओषधिः (plant, herb)
ओसात् (osāt) - from the essence
आरोग्यम् (ārogyam) आधत्ते (ādhattē) - health is brought
तस्मात् (tasmāt) - therefore
ओषधिः (oṣadhiḥ) - plant, herb
औषधः (auṣadhaḥ) - medicine.
The term 'osa' refers to a Rasa or essence, which is contained in a plant or herb, thus it is called 'Oṣadhi'.
From this essence, health is obtained; therefore, the 'Oṣadhi' (herb) is also called 'Auṣadha' (medicine)."
Bheshaja
Word derivation of भेषज (bheṣaja)
o The word is derived from the root "भिष" (bhiṣ) which means to heal or to cure.
o The suffix "अज" (aja) is added to the root "भिष" to form the noun "भेषज".
भेषज (bheṣaja) - This term primarily denotes medicine, remedy, or drug.
Definition of भेषज (bheṣaja):
रोगभयं जयतीति भेषजम् ।
भेषं रोगं जयतीति औषधम् इत्यमरः ॥
तदेव युक्तं भैषज्यं यदारोग्याय कल्पते ।
रोगभयं जयतीति भेषजम्:
"भेषजम्" (bheṣajam) means that which conquers the fear of disease.

"औषधम्" (auṣadham) means that which conquers disease.
तदेव युक्तं भैषज्यं यदारोग्याय कल्पते ।
Proper medicine is defined as that which is suitable and effective in promoting health.
Word derivation of कल्पना (Kalpana)
• Root: The word is derived from the root "kḷp" (कृप्), which means "to form," "to create," or "to imagine."
• Suffix: The suffix "ana" (अन) is added to the root to form the noun, indicating the action or process of forming or imagining.
Therefore, "Kalpana" (कल्पना) essentially means the act or process of forming, creating, or imagining something.

Definition of कल्पना (Kalpana)
कल्प्यते विधीयते असौ विधिः ।
Kalpana is the विधिः ('processes/method') employed for the preparation of any Ausadha (pharmaceutical products)
The processes or the विधिः may be Heating, boiling, frying or grinding.
2nd definition of kalpana.
कल्पनं योजनमित्यर्थः ।
"Kalpana" as the act of planning or arranging.
Kalpana is the 'yojana' (the plan or the strategy) developed for the preparation of a medicines
3rd definition of Kalpana
प्रकल्पनं संस्करणम् इति ।
प्रकल्पनं (Prakalpana) means designing or planning, and संस्करणम् (Saṁskaraṇam) means revision or refinement or bring about new qualities.
In this context Kalpana or prakalpana is 'samskarana'. Samskara may be : agni-samskarana(procedure done to prepare medicine using agni that is fire), jala- samskaraṇa(is using water), atapa-samskarana (using sunlight etc).
Bhaiṣajya Kalpana
भैषज्यानां कल्पना इति भैषज्यकल्पना ।
The science that deals in detail with the preparation of various medicines is called 'Bhaiṣajya Kalpana'.
