Strands was difficult. I figured out staff had to do with music after I used a hint, but it was hard to find words.

I had the urge this morning to warn you about the music themed strands. As someone who actually plays music and has taken many music theory classes (which is very focused on how music is notated/written into sheet music and also principles of composing music), I took me WAAAY too long to figure this strands out. Like I was finding words and had no clue how they went together or what they had to do with the theme clue. It wasn't until I got the spangram and had 2 words left that I realized it was MUSIC notation. Having the spangram just be "notation," I'm sure was confusing for everyone who isn't musically knowledgeable.

Imho, worldle's "hard mode" doesn't make the game harder, it just makes it less interesting. When you're down to one letter, making guesses that don't match the correct letters in order to deduce better info is more of an interesting challenge. This is just my own personal opinion though, and whatever brings the most enjoyment to you is the correct way to play.

You could also just state the word you'll use in the next video in this video, before the next days Wordle is released. Then people could join along with the same word if they wanted too. But there will always be people who will still think you looked up the answer ahead of time if you do get lucky, so honestly I don't think it matters what you do.

A staff is the lines on a music sheet, usually at the start of a staff, there are a few indicators on how the music should be played such as; the key, the tempo and the notes/amount of notes that need to be played as a sharp or flat in that piece.

The purple group on Connections was super tough for me. I struggled with Strands, too. Out of all the puzzles, the Mini is where I shine. I did it in 1:03 today.

Random chance is always exciting, like the lottery. Anybody who thinks you’re cheating should be ignored. If somebody cheats, they are only hurting themselves. You’re not crazy there are two words spelled affect. Don’t feel bad. This strands was very specialized. Most people didn’t get it until they had at least several words.

Strands was so dumb today - if you don't know music - and let's face a large proportion of people don't - the clue and the words made little to no sense to a majority of us. I heard it was hard for people who do know music too. I didn't know anything about what any of those had to do with each other until someone told me it was music related. NYT Games has been heavy on the music clues lately and I wish they would stop, lol. I don't know that much about playing music other than hitting play and listening to it.

Yep. I got sharp straight away by luck realised at that pointwhat the theme was even got notation and still had to use 3 hints because I just don't know the terms and knew I didn't know them. 😂

Affect is the verb while Effect is the noun (as in cause and effect).

Affect also has a different meaning. Which is relevant in thr connections game to know which category to look for.

Btw if you click on hint in the strands and you are not able to unscramble it, you can click on hint again and it tells you the direction that the letters go (it is very subtle so watch out for it)

I forgot myself on wordle today and accidentally geussed the same letter in the same place twice. 🤷‍♀️. BRASH, GLADE, DAUNT, VAPID. I got the same order as you on connections. I wasn't thrilled with their use of sun. Like I get it, but bask and bake and even sometimes tan, often use sun as a modifier. And this game pretty much doesnt include modifier words in the category with the things they modify. But I mean I got the category no problem so idk why I'm complaining. Haha. I did manage to get the number category and I surprised myself in doing so. I frequently dont get these kinds of purple categories. Nice job on the mini today! You solved it in under 3 minutes. I do the same thing where I just blank on words or I get to in my head and start serving geussing myself. I'm glad that you figured out that strands was music rather quickly, unlike me. It saved you from a little frustration I think since you at least known that you don't know instead of thinking you might be able to get it. Your remaining words were natural (what you call a music note that is not sharpnor flat), measure (like the sentence version of a section of music) and signature (tells you what scale and tempo to play).

Price-Tulip-Vapid. Three here too. I am glad you play hard mode. I pick my starting word from the TV. Any five letter word that is said just prior to my playing Wordle. Not really random, but it decreases my role in the word choice.

In the UK people let off flares from boats in an emergency. There used to be red reflective triangles to put behind your car if you are stuck. Are you telling me motorists let off flares in the USA?

There are stationary flares without being a rocket. It’s basically a cylinder filled with flammable powder and a spike to stick it in the ground. Mostly replaced by led lights today.
