We loved Evan Moore word a day. We purchased the student booklet that has the tests in it. I think it was somewhere between 5 an 7 dollars and we orally did the words and questions . I will definitely check out wordlywise❤️

Thanks for sharing this comparison. Definitely good to know. I've had worldly wise in mind for when we get up to it.

Worldly wise is definitely more well known but I believe is a bit advanced. Evan moor is great for a gentler approach so that will work better for some families

Really great video and mini flipthrough! Thanks for sharing Lauren! How long does it take for your daughter to complete one lesson of WW?
@thepracticalhomeschooler2 жыл бұрын
It depends on the day. Probably average of 10-15 minutes
@SuperMrgentleman Жыл бұрын
@thepracticalhomeschooler To clarify, she works on WW for 10-15 minutes a day, and finishes a lesson in 5 days of work?

We are going to do Wordly Wise this school year too. Hopefully I can commit to actually getting it done this school year lol. This was such a great comparison video. 😍

Thanks for sharing I just ordered worldly wise and hated how little it showed on Christian books of the inside so I’m happy to see I think this will work for hs

I ALWAYS look up KZbin videos if I can’t get a good idea from the samples online. So I’m glad you found it helpful! 😊❤️

Hi! Thank you so much for the information! I was wondering if you think the test books ( WW)are needed. Do you use them? Thanks in advance!
@thepracticalhomeschooler2 жыл бұрын
I didn’t even know WW made test books haha so I guess my answer would be no, you don’t need them 😉

@@thepracticalhomeschooler 😂 Thanks for your response. Good to hear! I ended up not buying them. I figured I can come up with my own tests/ review if needed. Take care and God bless you and your household!

I appreciate this. I'm toying between Worldly Wise and Vocabulary in Classical Roots. Any new thoughts on Worldly Wise?

Very timely question! Doing a very in depth flip through on Fridays video!
The worldly wise books look awesome if I find that my kids struggle with vocabulary!!!

Hi!! How would you (or your daughter) compare the difficulty or grade level between word a day 3 and wordly wise 3? i know some curriculum books are ahead and some behind grade level. Im undecided on which book to go with. I used level 1 word a day for both my girls (grades K & 2nd) last year as a family subject to lighten their load a bit. but now I'm thinking I should have them do it individually. Not sure which path to take. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I explained the difference in difficulty between the two in the video ☺️

@@thepracticalhomeschooler thank you for reaching out! maybe I worded it wrong. When viewing to vocabulary words in each book would you say word a day 3 is more for a second grader compared to Wordly wise 3? Or are the both “grade” level accurate? That’s more of what I’m trying to figure out. I don’t know if I’m explaining this right lol
@thepracticalhomeschooler2 жыл бұрын
@@suziekuhn8857 I think it depends on the 2nd grader, but probably, yes it could work.

Did you use Wordly Wise in earlier grades? I bought book 1 and it looks like I need a teacher book otherwise it makes no sense lol 🤦♀️
@thepracticalhomeschooler2 жыл бұрын
We didn’t! 4th grade was the earliest we’ve actually done!

My children in Grade 3 & 4 do Wordly Wise. They both don’t care for it, unfortunately. They find it bland and boring. I think it could do with some pictures that go with the stories at the end of the week. Perhaps also some pictures that help explain some of the vocabulary words, wherever possible.

I think that’s a great idea! Great for visual learners. If you come across something like that please share! ❤️
