I was an atheist for so long. I found different ideologies to explain the world. First was various brands of Marxism, then came various brands of Libertarianism, then Psychologism, Scientism, but they all were incomplete and obsessive stories. They all had fatal edge casings. I tried relativism for a bit at my darkest moments, but that leads down a vary dark path. Then I started listening to Bishop Barron, Jordan Peterson, and Jonathan Pageau, and things really started to make sense. I was born and raised Catholic, but the Christian story was never explained to me well. A lot of the Catholics around me believed distinctly protestant things. Now it makes so much sense. Like how Pageau explains principalities, Saints, and Angels fits perfectly inside what Bishop Barron is saying about demons and negative principalities. Like I had an addiction I couldn't get past, it was destroying me; destroying my integrity, my ability, my willpower, it was destroying my future and anything I could provide to others. Then I went to confession this Easter. It wasn't all magical, but I felt different, my chest felt a little lighter, I felt a little happier... But most of all, the temptations stopped controlling me. They were still there, screaming in my ear, but the priest said "Give it to God, it's not yours anymore." And it genuinely didn't feel like my temptation anymore, it felt like it was a misplaced ad, like when the algorithm gets it totally wrong and you have to laugh at it. It was the weirdest thing. And it wasn't a matter of willpower, it wasn't me doing it. I think that's why the Church talks about mysteries so much, because it felt like everything had changed, and yet nothing had changed in some sense. It was like the principalities had been put in order, they weren't destroyed, but they were integrated in their proper place in God's plan. The demons were caste out and the angels were left in their place.

We missed seeing him for over a decade. The wound still hurts, even though my dad passed. I now understand that dark forces were at play. I pray for God to heal my heart, and I pray for my fathers soul and piece. Now I must pray for that woman, who scattered my family. It’s hard to forgive her.

Cracks me up to hear Catholic Theologians talk. They always speak "around" things, not "to" things because they don't have a relationship with Christ. Catholicism is a religious cult and Jesus doesn't have anything to do with it. All true followers of Christ know that it is a false religion based on man's traditions and that many of its teachings and doctrines are straight from the pit of hell. @@frankrandall8875 Really interesting thought. I remember Bishop Fulton J. Sheen talked about why the Devil and his demons don't repent their sins on his episode about Angels. Its because unlike us humans, Angels are far superior than us, at least in intelligent and knowledge, which does not allow them to contemplate on their actions the way we humans do, simply because we are stupid which is why our sins can be forgiven. However the Angels have no such excuse, and its important to remember that the Angels, like us, had to cooperate with the grace of God to reach heaven.

We also can spot UNBiblical concepts like sola scriptura and sola fide, both found nowhere in the OT or NT. We can usually come right back at you with verses, but we do NOT have to prove our point by using the Bible ALONE, since that dogma was made up by Martin in the 16th century.

My family and I all prided ourselves on our various Ivy League degrees (opps!) and I had no interest in taking a leap of faith. I didn't see how it could all be real. I had sooo many doubts. I was also VERY happy with my life, did not feel like I "needed" God, and was content just trying to be a good person. In my late 30s, I began praying for faith, not thinking anything would come of what I then assumed to be a superstitious action. Several years later I AM BLOWN AWAY with the results of these prayers. My faith is a HUGE and incredibly joyful part of my life now and it all started with my confused prayers. If you truly want the truth and ask (pray) for it, you will be given the grace of "finding" your faith.

So no, I'm really, asking a very important question!: The very idea of devils, demons and the like...are invented in the fertile minds where superstitions exist. The mind can will powerful beliefs of the paranormal. There's a lot of scholarly studies, research, and psychology that demonstrates these apparitions, devils, ghosts, paranormal, and phantoms can be invented by superstitions...in our mind's self-fulfilling prophetic invention. Take for example, two approaches to the "idea of evil": (1) the traditional approach where evil is regarded as a force of demonic possession in human form, feed to us by religion, and (2) a 21-century scientific perspective that regards 'evil spirits' as a consequence of the actions of misguided or mentally deranged functions of human psychology. And lastly there's documentation that demons, devils, ghosts, appear in the over imaginations of those that use psychedelic drugs, or opiates--then "see and have" delusions of spirits because they buy into religion, and supernatural beliefs. +ds shakespeare You need to relax buddy. You are writing for KZbin comments section, not a University paper. And that is why demons resemble the same form. That transcends every culture, to every period in time in human history. Artists have always depicted demons and evil spirits and they all correlate in the same ways. Despite coming from completely different parts of the world and different time frames

My feeling on this subject is that I really appreciate ministries like the channel Armor of God. I think it's very important for Christians spiritual warfare to know as much about the enemy and how they operate. Knowing what the enemy can and cannot do, one, prepares us to resist his strategies, and two, by taking away his mystery we remove fear of the diabolical. This reinforces the liberty that we have in Christ.

Christopher Marlowe wrote a tragic novel. Dr. Faustus. It was about a German doctor named Faust. And he asked the devil for power and other evil things. He was too proud of his sins. Then he died and the devil dragged his soul to Hell. The point is, no matter how powerful sin and temptation maybe, resist it. Me, I've fallen into sin many times but i managed well to go to confession with a priest and i felt relieved.

Alan, Yes, yes in deed Marlowe was the author of "Dr. Faustus" ...What makes Marlowe unique was his day job, doing work as a double agent--working for Queen Elizabeth I's Privy Council. The idea of cursing the trinity, and making Mephistophilis automatically appear was Marlowe's specialty! ...And, a final note: 'sin' is a relative, subjective, perspective when viewed from the perspective that one's religious heresy, is anothers' gospel...!

Technically its a play. The novel is by Goethe. The Play is exceptionally powerful though: evil is shown consistently to be mundane, repetitive and entirely self-defeating. Actually God's promise to Eve was that her seed would crush the head of the serpent. 'He will crush your head' (Genesis 3"15) was how God described this seed or offspring of the woman, who would be born of one of Eve's daughters, our Lord's mother. She did not go die on the cross for us her Son did. Read Genesis 3:15 again.

Many are missing the point about the whole Good and Evil battle. Having Tylenol doesn't necessarily mean being able to get rid of headache totally. And in a similar line of thought, having Jesus died on the cross doesn't necessarily mean evil is all wiped away. There is still evil in us. Christ simply paved the way for us to go in conquering it, and that way is totally not an easy one. It is a way where we can turn to the sacraments.

I just discovered Bishop Barron from his talk with Jordan Peterson. While I may not be overly religious he has brought me back a bit to where I accept my own form of God. My belief in God is that we all hold a piece of the whole. He spoke to it here which was extraordinarily validating. Community is holiness. When we come together, since we are all pieces of God, that’s it. That’s the point. When we are scattered not so much. I believe that belief in God is belief in yourself because when you don’t believe in yourself you are in hell. I believe that belief in God is belief in your community. When you don’t believe in your community you are in hell.

Is it not an oxymoron to claim that there's no limit to God's omnipotence yet redefines the definition of free will, by then forcing Soul, David, and forces Pharaoh's heart to be hardened?

@@joecoupon8299 I think the key distinction is "cannot" because God is the essence of being itself meaning that he cannot contradict himself, even by some greater act of his will over his being. When we start framing it in the context of will as the primary driver similar to what the nominalists do, we begin to sever the will of God and pit it against his very essence, namely the essence of truth itself.

In the case of the RCC, it goes all the way up to the Vatican, and quite possibly to the Pope himself. You won't find anything similar in the Protestant religions - it doesn't have the same infrastructure and organization. They "are just as bad," is a horrible defense. It's basically an acceptance of guilt. To say "Protestants are just as bad" is to say, that yes, the Catholic Church is guilty. When you steal cookies from the cookie jar, you aren't any less guilty because your younger sister does the same thing. This Church claims to be God's representative on earth. @@Kitiwake I think the Church created this problem for itself. For generations it demonized gays, calling them disordered, unnatural, evil and wicked. It forced them behind closet doors, making them pariahs in society. They had no free and open social life, and the Church went out of its way to try and make them feel guilty - so what do you do in such a case? Where do you go to get your "guilt" removed? And coincidentally, where are there a lot of single men who share your sexual identity? Yup.... and off to the Church you go... But then... then you have to stand up every week in front of your parishioners and tell them again and again how evil and disordered and unnatural gay people are - and you are speaking of yourself! How do you stand up week after week and tell people you are guilty, and disordered for the crime of being who you are, who you were born as? How long are you able to do that before it starts to sink in... you are evil..... you are disordered... you are broken... the neural pathways are laid down... when neurons fire, the brain is wired.... and at that point, what's to stop the aberrant behavior - the pedophilia? You've already accepted that you are evil, so you go go with it, and besides, you know the Church will protect you at the expense of the kids - so to hell with them. The Church has filled you with self-loathing and self-hate, and you end up being who they say you are, who you tell yourself you are - an evil person. The problem may be alleviating itself, because most of the western world, at least, has told the Church to get out of its bedrooms and mind it's own damn business. Gays are no longer relegated to the closets and sneaking around. Now they can go somewhere to find others like themselves without joining the Church. This will surely mean a reduction in new candidates for the priesthood, but given the rate at which the pews are emptying, this seems like a timely development! Where am I going to find salvation from a Church that worships a god evil enough to send mere mortals who live but a handful of decades, to eternal torment, for the crime of failing to believe things for which there is no compelling, objective evidence? Where am I going to find salvation from a Church that believes unbaptized infants (aborted, miscarried stillborn) almost certainly go to Hell, despite being as helpless as it is possible to be? Where am I going to find salvation from that? In my own conscience; in my own rejection of the evil god the Church insists that you worship.

In His Sermon on the Mount Jesus tells us, " Without Me You can Do Nothing " Satan is powerful, cunning and he has been around for a very, very long time, and He Loathes You. You are powerless to resist satan, only God can protect you. Satan was given vast knowledge, and he is a spirit who used his free will to claim he was like God, that pride was his downfall, but now he seeks our destruction. Pray constantly, go to confession at least once a month, and receive the Holy Eurcharist at Mass each week. These are the basic defenses against the power of evil, without them you are holding satan by the hand already.

Tommy. We are told to each seek out our salvation with fear and trepidation. You are greatly mistaken if you imagine you can simply 'press the UP Button on God's elevator' and get to heaven while still not changing your stone cold heart. Jesus tells us He will give us hearts of flesh to replace the heart of stone we each have. That happens with His grace as we progress in charity and merciful acts toward, ' The Least of These '. You must have conveniently forgotten that Jesus also said, " Not everyone who says Lord, Lord will enter the kingdom of heaven. " If you do not carry your cross daily in humility and charity, as Jesus tells you you will not get there. You are called to be in the 'here and now' the salt of the earth, the leaven in the bread, and the light on a lampstand. You need to re-Read The Sermon On The Mount, based on your simplistic remark.

NaYawkr Really? Another works salvation? Mark 1:15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel. John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: 3:15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.6:47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.John 8:24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins. John 14:11 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake. Acts 8:37 And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Acts 13:39 And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses. Acts 15:11 But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they. Acts 16:31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Notice these verses are present tense? Mark 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. John 10:9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. Acts 2:21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. added to the church daily such as should be saved. Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Acts 15:11 But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they. Acts 16:30 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? Acts 16:31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. Romans 5:9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. Romans 5:10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. Romans 8:24 For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved . Notice past tense? Salvation is past tense. It is based on what Jesus did for man on the cross, not what man does to maintain his salvation.Maybe Jesus way of salvation is so simple YOU just don't get it. Stop adding the works part to salvation.

God is all seeing and all knowing. He knows the beginning and the end. There is no limit to his power. With great power comes great responsibility. God is fair, he is just. He has patience and compassion to last lifetimes. Who is best to oversee all creation - than the creator himself. Imagine for one moment that the best of earth’s creators created something of pure perfection, no flaws, no mistakes, no errors, no blemishes and faults. You would marvels at such craftsmanship in great wonder. Now imagine God making something so perfect that even he himself stated thy work is indeed the seal of perfection. Lucifer was that creation. He was made perfect. Can you imagine looking upon yourself and knowing how brilliant and bright you are? Lucifer’s test was to ignore is brilliance and instead humble himself before the glory of God. He established you and you were made as the covering angel that covers the very throne of God.What honour! As I said, God is all knowing - Sin does not creep up on God without him knowing. God saw in your heart and watched to see if your growing proudness would blind your wisdom to the point where you believed that you should receive worship also and also think that you are equal to God? You fell because of pride to the ground and failed the test of giving humility. God will always exalt the weak to become first and the strong last. O’ morning star, you walked with God and you knew this, yet you chose to rebel and seek power for your own. - Now everlasting fire awaits your soul...

We , who call ourselves Christians can't be on an opposition stance that completely contradicts what Christ established and confirmed. It's like " I'm Christian but I hate the people that surround me" that's not Christian like... Is what I was trying to say (sorry for the confusion). Catholicism , I think is a way of life.. Exercising sacraments that help the human live more like Christ , serve and bring people to a full understanding of who Jesus is. It's a complete blessing.

Speaking of division being dark this is exactly why as Christians we need unity together to do Gods will in seeking the least the last and the lost in the world and being united together Christians of all denominations working together. It’s not about doctrines that most Christians don’t even know about but rather Gods love as Paul speaks of unity in the book of Ephesians and Jesus prayed in John 17. We need to work together and to understand that satan wants division in all things where God wants unity among all things. God bless

Sit in a quiet place and focus on the person of Jesus Christ. Feel this world pass away. All your friends, all of your family, all of your problems. Gone. But within him resides all things. All that you hope for, all happiness and joy. Life itself. He is the one that sustains everything and brings it into existence. Your friends, your family, your very mind. But you are the captain of your mind, and life. So look to Christ standing in front of you. He is looking at you. His arm is outstretched to save you. Everything surrounding our lives is constantly changing. Our relationships with others, our interests change minute to minute, the latest material desires the world worships, etc. But Christ never changes. He is the one constant. He is eternal. "Be still and know that I am God". Trust in him. When your life seems like a complete utter mess, and you don't even know how or what to think. He is the one constant. The final refuge of all. Tell him in prayer that he is the only one you want. The one object of your quest on earth. True peace can only be obtained by knowing him through our endless pursuit of him and be graced with the knowledge of his love. We do this through faith.

He told us “IHave come to bring the sword”! It’s happened to me, also. Family & friends because of my convictions . He never promised a “rose garden”. Being a faithful Catholic is difficult.that’s why I love & so appreciate all the “bells & whistles” HMC has in abundance. Thank You, Lord Jesus !❤️❤️🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼😇

Jewess The rosary is a reflection on the life of Jesus through the mysteries of the rosary; the joyful mysteries, the luminous mysteries, the sorrowful mysteries, and the glorious mysteries. When you start a rosary, you say a creed of faith (Apostles creed for example). Then you pray an Our Father, three Hail Marys, and then the Glory Be prayer. After this, you can pray "Oh my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of Hell. Lead all souls to Heaven, especially those in most need of thy Mercy" these are the only prayers throughout the whole rosary, besides usually the final one, the 'Hail holy Queen', which is basically asking Mary to pray for us and with us to God. The Hail Mary prayer goes like this: "Hail Mary full of grace, the Lord is with you! Blessed are you among women and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen." Now, as Catholics, we believe that the saints in Heaven are alive, and we can talk to them and ask for their intercession by the power and grace of God, for they cannot do anything without Him. Mary is the saint of highest honor in Heaven, because she said 'yes' to giving birth to our Lord Jesus Christ. We ask Mary to pray for us while saying the rosary over and over again, each time reflecting on a different part of Jesus' life

Is awesome to be a witness how JESUS LOVE working through us indeed concords all evil(own personal testimony). Regardless how evil comes through our path(different ways, shapes and forms). By just NOT permitting those circumstances change the LOVE GOD plants in us went HE creates us. Shedding off evil by continuously looking through what GOD already has available to help us defeat(The priest explains exactly what we need to have victory over victory)those miseries evil wants to share with us to convert us in something we're not by our CREATOR. Lets continue to plant LOVE and ONLY LOVE, and thought it THE LORD will let us bear fruits in abundance for HIS GLORY.♡♡♡

Your Rosary is a SPIRITUAL weapon. In an intense battle of which we're ALL in the middle. How does anyone know how God has utilized your Rosary prayers?? To suggest nothing happens because it didn't work (pride again)??? How does and how can anyone fathom the mind of God?? Let Him be the judge of how best to use your prayers to Our Lady !!!
