So if you create a website for a business using Showit, do they need to then pay the Showit monthly price of $24/mo (if needing blogging). What is the value to a small business owner (ie. cleaning business, etc) for paying the extra roughly $15-20/mo for Showit compared to having someone design a website for them that they can self-host and make changes to? I get the convenience for the designer (person designing) using Showit, but how does this end up being a win for the small business owner if they're having to pay more on a monthly basis?

Great comparison, though I think one has to compare WP+Elementor (website builder) to be more fair, which caters for drag&drop elements at least and also offers a tablet layout for mobile responsive UI/UX + more customisation. (you can change properties for mobile/tablet/desktop independently or use different version for each). Showit seems much quicker and easier to work/design with.

Thanks @Lisa Montana. Are you currently using WordPress or trying to decide what website platform is best for you?

Is show it hosted on wordpress? I am so confused about the blogging. The tonic shop said it can't be used on WP.

@@veronicalong99 I know it can be confusing understanding how this works. Here is a video I made that explains all about how blogging works on Showit. kzbin.info/www/bejne/f2q9iH6dj9N8hLssi=BGTPsqJ7cxdqRGep. You don’t need to find your own hosting with Showit. It’s included in your plan.

Don’t use Word Press. Why? Because when you’re building your site and then when it’s finished, WordPress is screwing with your website schema in the background all the time. My site is 4 years old and there is constant wreckage of lost footnotes, broken links, fonts breaking, media lost and on. WP never takes responsibility to fix any of it. Then they do not support your template choice after a couple years. Do you want to build your site again?! Their support commonly does not solve problems. It’s just a crap platform.

I think that's why many don't auto update WP or plugins and backup before updating or test it locally for any major issues or dependencies issues, on the other hand you get much more functionality and customisation options vs what Showit supports. The cost difference over the years can become substantial (from 3yrs for the price of 1). Btw. Elementor is a better choice to build the sites within WP.

This literally just happened to me over the weekend. My site theme (caboom) crashed out and it doesnt translate any good to the other themes so I basically would have to build it again. I now essentially have no choice but to use showit now as I did have my site built on there but didnt fully pull the trigger on it until now.

I think this wont be an issue if you build custom pages using page builders
