@@europa2000man in the theoretical universe of Threads, fallout would have damaged the tape (you can see similar distortions from Chernobyl or Hiroshima or Nagasaki footage). To get that effect I think they ran a strong magnet along the tape or something and played it on a black and white TV.

What a great time it was back then growing up as a kid. The way we learned things was so innocent, with programs like words & pictures. You're better off to teach your kids with the words & pictures episodes, than with all this snowflake & pc garbage today.
