Takes defeat with grace and enjoy success with respect. I think this is how a sportsman should be. He is an ideal for the coming generation. More power to you Joss Butler. And let’s not forget the way they batted too. A few of the tail enders did exceptionally well to pick up the impetus straight away and keep the tempo going; that is not at all easy to do, especially on a pitch with movement for both the seamers and spinners. To say that a lot of big names were missing, such as; Bairstow, Root, Brook, (Stokes - he might change his mind and play in the WC) and Livingston, this was a very good performance.

If he wasn’t any good they wouldn’t. But among the general public, yeah. It used to be like that for Moeen as well. England plays like a team, they don’t have to rely on couple of superstars, they have depth in batting and bowling they don’t over react when someone misfields or if they lose. Humble in both victory and Defeat. I have been a fan since that marvellous Ashes 05, I have witnessed England being ranked 7 or 8 in ODIs to them being double champions. Sometimes they collapse but it’s that resilience which inspires me. Now a Test Championship Mace in the next round should be England’s Target. In Stokes and Bazball we trust! Go England!

He's just scored a tidy sum in the IPL so they obviously think he can play - his performance in Pakistan wouldn't have hurt - and I doubt that his numbers in Australia will remain so low for long.

By a certified match winner, I meant somebody who has already won ample of matches for their teams. He was insane in PSL and has been extremely good in the longest format too. This IPL might make him one of the biggest stars in the cricket world. I also like SRH on paper a lot. A lot of lowkey names. Hope they come good this year.

I would call this innings of Stokes as some sort of redemption than a match winning innings because he brought England to a loosing situation from 61 needed off 60 balls.He was struggling badly, was not taking any risks and when situation got very Embarrasing for him then only he looked to play big shots and part timer Iftikhar Ahmed was like God's gift to him.

Yes Stokes was very lucky. The amount of times the ball beat the bat was just ridiculous. But unlike the Pakistani batsmen, he did not loose his head. He kept the ship steady and was there til the end.

This World Cup campaign for England has been very similar to what Australia had in 1999 in England. Favourites before the start of the tournament. Started off in a scratchy fashion and then gathered momentum and form as the tournament progressed and then eventually, crowned as World Champions!! British Players showed Great Character as well as played Good Game especially in final by restricting Pakistan to 140, then launching Batting attack to show they truly deserves World Cup . Again To speak about the character , England showed it throughout the tournament. In the Semi Final match, when Bhuvneshwar Kumar started bowling first ball of first over, I understood that it's England who are going to win the match and I am happy for it. After all, it's Rishi Sunak who is PM of England. Politics is different part but England truly played well throughout tournament. I celebrated victory of England in the final match. Feeling jealous of England Team. They really have turned things around since 2015 and BEN STOKES.. what a player. He has done what MSD has done for India, help them win WC. And they were without Bairstow and Archer.. Wow, so many all rounders. Stokes, Sam Curran, Moeen Ali, Livingstone, Woakes. India have a lot to learn from them. During Dhoni and Ganguly era, we had batsman who could bowl, Sachin, sehwag, yuvraj, raina etc which we dont have now. Now how many we have and what will happen to this team if hardik gets injured. We need multi dimensional players now and importanly guys who have big match temperament to win WC. If we dont find them, we wouldnt win in near future.

I don't think India will improve until BCCI wants them to. Their entire focus is on IPL and ticket sales due to big players. They need an entire revamp and have different strategy for Limited overs. The main thing is they lack squad depth, the replacement aren't even good as main players. We haven't groomed another Fast bowling all rounder since Hardik.
